You get all of those but improved no. 3 because you bypass any national blocks and rights blocks. For example you can’t watch Channel 4 Youtube videos if you have a UK IP. But you can outside the UK.
Also point 1 is more private if you go outside your nation so the exit server can’t be seized. Highly unlikely but if you’re going to use a VPN why not use it properly with no downsides?
So it’s always best to use a VPN that’s outside the country you’re in.
So a Canadian using a Seppo or a Brit using a Dutch.
Sometimes you might still want the services in your own country to act as if you’re in your own country. (I don’t use one but) for example I live in the UK and I wouldn’t want my VPN to tell Disney+ I’m in the US cause Disney+ is better in the UK with more content.
I mean, if privacy is really your concern you really shouldn’t use UK servers at all or any other country that’s part of the Five Eyes (or other such alliances https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Eyes).
Also, people use VPNs for different reasons, like not wanting your workplace to know your browsing Lemmy during office hours. This is such a strangely confrontational post considering people seem to just be trying to help OP troubleshoot their problem.
On the original point, I can’t seem to access APKPure either, VPN connected to Singapore. Might try other connections when I’m not at work.
There are many legitimate and legal reasons for using VPN. It’s not just to pretend you’re in another country. Using it on public wifi, for example. That way you still show up to web sites as being in your country while still wrapping up your traffic so the public wifi coffee shop perverts can’t see it.

Using a VPN, even if the server is located in the same country, provides several benefits:
Privacy: It encrypts your internet traffic, hiding your online activities from your ISP and potential eavesdroppers.
Security: It secures your data, especially on public Wi-Fi networks.
Bypass Restrictions: It can bypass internet censorship or network restrictions in workplaces.
Avoid ISP Throttling: It can prevent ISP throttling based on content type or data usage, ensuring consistent internet speed and performance.
Are YOU stupid?
How DARE you!

UK’s pretty shit right now, isn’t it? I wish Rishi would hurry up and call an election before I hang myself.
The country itself, yeah, pretty shit.

I don’t use the UK because that’s the country I’m in. I use Sweden or Netherlands.
I don’t think they’re stupid, but I KNOW you’re a condescending prick.
