I subjectively like it.
I objectively think it’s the best that could’ve been implemented for what it is, it being a blend of real-time combat but with the strategy of classic ATB turn based combat.
An almost 30 Software Dev that enjoys gaming, woodworking, electronics and plenty of other hobbies. Too many hobbies.
I subjectively like it.

The game you loved still exists, and the new ones let you spend a little more time in the world, fleshing out little moments from the original and lingering on them longer and giving these characters’ relationships time to actually breathe and grow more naturally.
I’m sorry it didn’t grab you from the first 15 minutes, you truly are missing out on some awesome moments and gameplay in my opinion. Obviously the latter being mostly subjective, but I do objectively think it’s the best action/ATB system that could’ve ever been implemented.
Because of how people are implicating that. It is technically by design but in my eyes:
1 - it was released early (could be classed as a bug)
2 - is only meant for specific games and/or news posts and not just turned on for every game (I would say that is buggy)
It’s definitely a bug and meant to only be on specific games, I imagine the like of multiplayer heavy or live service games that utilise the news feature to show off new updates
I think it is intended behaviour, but it’s not meant to be a system wide thing. I can see this being useful for multiplayer and live service games.
Remake and Rebirth are so fucking good. They’re more than what I wanted because instead of just getting a basic bitch remake in more than just name, I get a fucking sequel that expands upon so many aspects of the original. As a fan. Why wouldn’t you want more of what you love?
Not only that they’ve shown time and time again throughout the games so far that they hold so much reverence to the original and show it so much more respect than a beat for beat remake ever could.
It’s 100% a sequel. It does not replace the original.
It’s not about amount of discs. It’s about dev time. If it was one whole game they’d not only bloat the budget to dangerous levels, it’d likely be outdated by the time it’s finished and will either need to redo large parts of the game so it looks modern or release a game that looks like it should’ve released 5+ years ago.
Imagine if FFVII didn’t split up it’s remake, not only would we not have any of it right now. When the third part comes out it’ll all just look like a PS4 game on a PS6.
If you want to argue whether or not they should go balls to wall that requires them to make a series of games so large is infeasible as a single entry, and do something a bit more budget friendly like the original, then fair enough. But then it’d just be a remaster or something not that far removed.
It’s not an ad per se. They’re replacing the key art and game logo with the picture and title of the latest news post for the game you’re on.
It’s not an algorithm, it’s just the latest news for the game. The news feature has been a part of ps5 since the beginning. This is replacing key art with the picture for the news article/video and the title replacing the games logo.
How else are the golf balls going to be efficiently put into their homes
I miss writing in clojure. I never have a reason to write in a functional language at work
I’ll have to watch this see how good pisser is
OP is usually “original poster”, the one that started the thread
I think it was announced via the state of play before then
I could’ve sworn I’ve definitely had issues trying to run steam games elsewhere in the past. For example I have a retro XP gaming PC and what a few failed attempts I had to assume any steam game was just not going to work. Guess I was just doing it wrong then maybe
Having to sign in to something to play your games is a DRM, that’s definitely steam. Don’t think it fully extends to GOG since once you’ve downloaded the games you don’t even need their client or to ever reconnect to their servers ever again.
If people complain about having to sign into psn to play a game they should also complain about facing to sign into steam is what I’m saying. They always seem to get preferable treatment when it comes to this stuff that it makes it seem like everyone wants them to become (or stay - depending on how you feel about it) a monopoly.
I do. I don’t understand why people get up in a tiff about one DRM when they advocate for another.
I disagree, not that much has really changed overall in the grand scheme, just in how and when it’s being told. We mostly just get more.
Like look at the upper junon section. We get everything that was there before, except we get this extra section with the seventh in between the parade and leaving for costa del sol (and the recruitment section just before the parade). Which looking back was one of my favourite bits, especially early on.
