apart from some high level similarities — a brother kills his brother to marry his brothers wife, which is way more of a main plot point in Hamlet than the Lion King. I don’t see it.

Who are Rosencrantz and Guilderstern, and Ophelia, and Laertes in the Lion King and all four of their tragic fates? Who is Zazu and Rafiki and the hyenas in Hamlet? Why does Simba go on a journey in the wilderness when that’s not in Hamlet? where is the play within a play in the lion king? when does simba want to die rather than fight scar?

Apart from the Scar / Simbas mother scene I’m struggling to think of any other similarity.

Alright. Try Kimba the White Lion.

A young exiled male lion cub tries to reclaim the throne of his dead father from a dark-maned usurper who has a scar on his eye with the help of a bird, a mandrill and a warthog. The usurper has comedic relief companions in the form of hyenas and the protagonist’s father appears in the clouds to give him advice. The protagonist confronts the usurper and ends up dangling off of a cliff. A large rock forms the center of this kingdom, there is an elephant graveyard as well as a benevolent king.

The above paragraph describes both Kimba and the Lion King
