I see in reading more that NK is pretty far from communist. But I think people have imagined communism to be something that it never could be. I don’t see how society could exist without money. I see that Soviets thought that eventually they wouldn’t need money but I think this is unrealistic and I don’t see that existence of money in a society could be used to determine if it’s communist or not. Another issue I see reading about NK is people’s conception of private property. They think you wouldn’t be able to own a wrench… That you’d have to check out tools based on your need to use them. My understanding from the propaganda I’ve been exposed to, is that personal property is still allowed- your house, your clothes, your watch, a tv… but private property would not exist- businesses, infrastructure, food supply, goods and services would all be under party control. Also, someone said a Communist society would be stateless… This isn’t realistic. A Communist society would look like hundreds or thousands of work camps all bundled together, where each work camp can meet the needs of everyone in that camp. To me it is highly designed and streamlined. To other people they envision chaos and rule by the strongest and loudest members.

I know that’s a bunch of stuff not related to the discussion but there really isn’t a discussion

Marx said that socialism is the gateway for communism. Bring the means of prouction to the working class, then youd be able to make the next transition to communism.

In any case, there are no societies currently that meet the primary criteria for being called socialist OR communist.

The fact you are incapable of understanding something doesn’t change truth.

Exactly, satisfying the highest standard is not a criteria for categorisation. It’s the same as saying USA isn’t capitalistic because governament regulations are still a thing
