Julius Caesar’s memoir of war in Gaul makes use of VIIII, for instance. You’re right that it’s much rarer, but was still used contemporarily and in modern times.
Mostly a lurker. Abandoned Reddit before it was cool

It’s a scientific fact that physical matter does not exist in its physical form when unobserved.
No, it’s not. The quantum field and the quantum wave exist whether or not you observe it, only the particle behavior changes based on interaction. Note how I specifically used the word “interaction”, not “observation”, because that’s what a quantum physicist means when they say the wave-particle duality depends on the observer. They mean that a wave function collapses once it interacts definitely, not only when a person looks at it.
It certainly invalidates physical reality as the “source of truth”, so to say
How so, when the interpretation you’re citing is specifically dependant on the mechanics of quantum field fluctuation? How can physical reality not exist when it is physical reality that gives you the means to (badly) justify your hypothesis?
You could have a database of your brain… but it wouldn’t be conscious.
Where is the proof of your statement?
Because “metronome” means regular measure, not regular metre.
VIIII is a valid way to write 9, though antiquated. If you look at very old clocks, you’ll see they all use this notation.
Even if we ignore what @prole wrote, in civilized countries you’re allowed to break company policy if it infringes your rights, regardless of what a contract says.
which is common across all workplaces?
In your shithole country, maybe.
What do if I can easily consume 1kg of assorted nuts in a single sitting? Almonds in particular are impossible to stop eating. (Which is why I don’t buy them in quantities above 100g).
To be fair, I doubt the public would give them a symphony either way. Seems like it’d be expensive and require a lot of training.
At this point you’re really grasping at straws to justify your cruelty, huh?
No, fruit is produced to be eaten by animals who will ingest the seeds and defecate them somewhere suitable for growth. It is not meant to be eaten by animals who defecate in a toilet.
Completely fucking irrelevant how an animal spreads a plant’s seed.
Regardless, animals and plants used in agriculture have been modified by selective breeding to suit human needs, so the milk and fruit they produce are now meant for humans. And human agricultural practices ensure a constant supply of both fruit and milk.
You’ve been selectively bred to work, is it okay to turn you into a slave?
Milk and fruit are both only produced for a limited time.
By each individual plant, sure. But for diverse farming, you can easily get a permanent rotation of fruits going.
You’re also completely ignoring the most importat fact - that milk is produced to feed newborns and fruit is produced to attract (and by extension feed) literally whichever species is around.
Well, no. Milk is naturally produced for a limited period so a mammal can feed its young. Fruits are produced year-round every year so a plant can spread its seeds as far as possible.
High five for unalienable rights
A nutter with a good point is still a nutter.
TL;DR: The guy is a nutter.
You don’t know that a flying pink unicorn doesn’t follow you around everywhere. Is it safe to assume it does?
You’re a fucking moron.
Is emergent intelligence the scientific definition of consciousness?
There exists no practical or effective difference.
That man looks like a mime from hell
That’s an incredibly sensationalistic way to put it. By that logic, the ancient greeks are the forefathers of WiFi, because they figured how to create static electricity using cotton and ambar.
You can (and should) give credit without overstating their achievement.
