I meant every word of it. You are manipulating what I said. I have gay friends myself and I get along with anyone independent of their beliefs, something you seem incapable of doing.

Remind me how you started this comment chain? Something about how you respect and wish to befriend people despite disagreeing?

Do you have gay friends or do you know gay people that you consider friends? Im asking this because as a bi guy I find more than a few conservatives think Im their friend when I wish they were better people and do not at all see them as friends. Friends do not support parties whose stated goals are to make their friends be less equal under the law which the GOP has explicitly stated.

Obviously I don’t know you or them but I wouldn’t be surprised to find they don’t consider you a friend

I understand what youre saying but I do not support the GOP and I am not conservative. I usually never talk politics with my friends anyways. I think they do consider me as friends.

I deleted my comment when I realized you weren’t American.

As a side note the “Don’t teach kids sexuality” is always about denying that gay people exist. There is zero nuance to that when you see the policies as they are written for the US states that adopt this.

When they are old enough (~16) its okay to talk about those things but I don’t like the way people say anybody can be gay because that just leads to kids thinking they are gay when they have little to no knowdelge of sex or relationships. We should accept and welcome gay people but we shouldn’t push it into people, it should come out naturally.

Im bi. My first crush was Richard Chamberlain. I can explain why as a boy I needed to watch Shogun on TV but it was a bit odd that I also really needed to watch The Thornbirds which is about an Anglican Priest who ends up in an affair with a woman in his church. I was 8.

No one is becoming gay because it was suggested to them. I get how you might be foolhardy enough as a straight person to think this is the case, but I can tell you every single gay person that hears you say this knows how dumb it is. Your exact statement is why I said it is always about denying gay people exist.

Your notion here is intensely homophobic and I really hope you recognize that, change your views and grow as a result.
