Im a bit new to anime. Some help would be really appreciated. Just finished “Your Lie in April” only…
Edit: thank you for all your suggestions everyone, i dont really have a lot of time in my schedule (piano classes, programming, etc.) But ill be sure to check out every shoq you suggested. Ill not be responding to newer replies for now, thank you once again…
Edit 2: once i finish Blue Lock, ill get back to yall suggestions, and give a rating… thanks
Edit3: next time, pls dont suggest pornographic material…
I’m gonna suggest two animes too:
Baccano! Non-linear storytelling, 1930s Chicago, and mostly on a train. Fantastic 12 episode anime (no need to watch the OVAs they are mostly an extended epilogue).
Akudama Drive: Fantastic cyberpunk, action. Awesome characters. 12 Episodes long and complete.
Note: I see OP’s (closed), but I don’t see them recommended often and both are only 12 episodes long and complete and extremely good.
Thanks a lot. Yes i did mark it as closed, but thats only to let people know my current list is full (i have like limited time). Ill keep you all updated, share my thoughts.
UPDATE1. Baccano! – already into the first episode, and its fantastic!! Very innovative 9/10
Late to the party but Dandadan should be on your list
Aight, thanks mate!
Witch watch and Anne Shirley are currently airing, you will love them.
Currently airing you say? Thank you so much, ill check it out too…
If you’re looking for romance drama, I suggest Nana. It’s one of my all time favourites.
Ill be sure to watch it soon… thanks a lot
What genre do you usually enjoy? Anime is only an art form.
You can’t go wrong with ghibli. Spirited away, Howl’s moving castle, princess mononoke are all good films.
Also “Your Name” is great
UPDATE: Your Name was a 100/10… thank you
Another update: I… love… Spirited Away. 10/10
And now that you mention Ghibli, i did some research and it seems i HAVE watched anime when i was younger. The ghibli ones tho. Whisper of the Heart was my favourite… thanks for your recommendations…
Im not really bound by any genre… anything enjoyable is great with me, thanks a lot for the suggestions too
SHOWS Frieren Full metal alchemist Fire force Delicious in dungeon Akame ga kill Jujitsu kaisen Rent a girlfriend (not for everyone) Apothecary diaries
MOVIES Cowboy bebop Ninjascroll (not for everyone) Princess mononoke Laputa Ponio Spirited away
These are just a few off the top of my head. Not everyone will agree but its something to look at
Woah, thanks dude, guess my weekend is loaded :)
Please don’t recommend Akame ga Kill, they made a terrible anime ending that has nothing to do with the manga, leaving it open would be better.
Imma check one episode first, then see…
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was everyone’s go to recommendation for a long time, and for good reason. With more info on what you like, we can give more tailored recommendations.
Thanks man, Since im just starting out, i gotta see what best fits for me… ill be sure to update soon
Yeah that’s always been the one I’ve recommended to people who have never watched anime. It’s a perfect blend of action, interesting story, great characters, funny moments, and it’s not sexualized.
Alright, ill take your word for it :)
What genres are you interested in?
Im still finding out yk… this is my first time watching ANYTHING in general. I watch a lot of horror/gore when i was small tho
Anime /s
I recommend AnoHana. It is also a drama but with a splash of supernatural instead of romance.
Another easy recommendation in the fantasy genre is Frieren which is currently the highest rated anime on MAL, so it’s hard to go wrong there.
My personal favorite anime is Haibane Renmei but after that, there isn’t much worth in watching anything else anymore since it’s only downhill from there, so I suggest to only watch it once you got your fill.
Thank you so much… i dont really have a lot of time, but ill be sure to check all of them out!
Your Lie in April is a drama romance. In that vein, I suggest you watch Toradora!. It’s my favourite anime of all time.
Oragairu is also really good (and long, so you’ll have plenty of material to enjoy), and Nichijou is also awesome, but it’s a pure-comedy show, so a bit different from what you’ve seen, so far.
If you’re looking for something a little more recent, I suggest watching The Apothecary Diaries.
Rhank you so much man… really appreciate it
Planetes (ΠΛΆΝΗΤΕΣ). A really great science fiction anime by the creator of Cowboy Bebop. Pretty realistic as far as the “science” in science-fiction goes. A bit slow to start, but really touching.
Yo ho, lets go!!! Thanks me matey
I can also highly recommend Planetes and Cowboy Bebop.
Alright my good comrade, ill avast the pirate seas at your word…
Classic anime sci-fi movies Ghost in the Shell and Akira are must watch.
Ooo, sci fi… ill check it out soon. Cant say ive enjoyed a lot of sci fi tho. Thanks anyhoo mate
Salaryman Kintaro. It wields absurdity just right.
Alright… ill be sure to check out your recommendations, thanks a lot
Boku no Pico
Dunno whats with the downvotes, ill check it out tho, thanks…
Don’t watch this, it’s porn. It’s a troll-y/meme-y answer to suggest to new anime watchers to shock them. If you want to know the general plot, here is an old reddit thread.
Thanks for warning me man… im trying to stay away from such content…
Sorry, it’s a running joke. I wasn’t expecting you to take it seriously.
I didn’t see any pornographic material being suggested here,…??
Edit: it was Boco no Pico. Guess I missed that one
