The aftermath because dumb article didn’t provide picture:
That’s not crushed! Clickbate at its finest!
“Totalled” doesn’t have the same joi de vivre
That’s not totaled either. Severely dented is the most I’ll allow.
I’ve seen people drive cars and worse condition than that.
I’ve seen cars in Minnesota that look like that and are so rusted out that they’ll give you tetanus just looking at them
Every panel dented. Yeah thats totaled. No way you can fix all those panels for the worth of the car.
I think it’s pretty clear that they just wanted to 'scream and shout at the people’s like the researcher in the article says. A herd of angry elephants looking to do actual damage would have easily crushed that car if they wanted to. This was just a warning, as the calf turned out to be fine.
That is way too small a car to be in when an elephant decides to go ham on your ride
“Wait! Just hang on I- Yes, yes, I know. I struck one of your young. Don’t worry, this’ll all be resolved momentarily; I’ll just take a minute to upgrade to something more robust…”
(I don’t know why but it feels like this needs to be said in Nigel Thornberry’s voice)
That’s far less crushed than I was imagining.
The family and also the calf are okay, fwiw.
Cheers bud, I was here for the calf!
That seems fair.
I hope the calf is doing well
The weather was foggy and it was drizzling, hampering visibility for Mohd Azian Mohd Noor
Drive slower…
Works great until the guy behind you makes the mistake you didn’t!
But the reality of dense fog is just that you shouldn’t drive in it, but people don’t want to hear that.
And I understand your reasoning is “the guy behind me might be an asshole and endanger everyone around, so I’ll show him and I’ll be the asshole that endangers everyone too”?

Good. Don’t bump the baby. I’ve seen human moms do worse for speeding in a school zone.
"Mr Noor was negotiating a sharp left turn when he saw the elephant calves and slammed the brakes.
His car struck one of the calves, launching it onto the bonnet and then to the ground."
Maybe they need a mirror or something there.
How fast was he going? If you are launching an elephant with the force of your impact, I’m going to go ahead and say you were probably travelling at a fair rate of knots.
Well, it’s Malaysia and we drift to work everyday.
Interesting choice on unit of speed for a car…
