Once I got over a bike and drove about 4km to the shop. When I got off the bike, entered said shop, got some products, and then I lost my vision. Gradually. It started going out like somebody was turning off the light little by little every second. And then complete darkness. At this point I was checking out and was trying to blindly get my pennies (prob was looking like a drunkard or smth) and went out trying not to trip over, sat on a bench, vision restored. It was amusing to me, quite scary for my mom and a shop owner.

    (Sorry for chopped up English)

    • Blood pressure. Your blood pressure was failing on you. When you have that happen you should not push it as it will only become worse.

Sit down for a second and it goes away almost immediately. You were lucky to have done so. If you had kept pushing you’d have fainted for a second. Not long but still long enough to get injured while you collapse.

Sometimes I’ll do the fighter jet pilot thing where I breathe out slowly while clenching all my gut muscles and I feel like that helps, does that help or am I just imagining it?

I had very sharp heart pain scares for a month, and then I realized that my friend and I have been doing a running bit where we clap our hands very quickly and excitedly before eating really good food or buying tickets to a show, and the day after i stopped clapping like that, the sharp stabbing pain in my chest went away.

I tried sleeping differently, stretching, all sorts of things before I realize that I was just clapping too maniacally.

When this happens in the chest region, the fix is to take a painfully deep breath, hold it for 30 seconds while pushing down and out, and let it out. Fixed.

Happens to me all the time. My partner finally had it happen for the first time ever and thought he was dying, I laughed told him to do the above and that mf had the audacity to be surprised it worked. Asshole.

I had it happen in the middle of the night the first time, took a shot of whiskey, accepted my death, then went back to sleep to die peacefully.

I didn’t know the name for it until today, thanks. I get it once in a while.

My side sometimes randomly decides to hurt so bad I can’t move when I’m sitting or laying down. There’s times where I’m like, “Am I screwed?”

Your liver doesn’t have any nerve endings inside of it, so your have no way of knowing if there’s something wrong with it, unless it suffers a traumatic injury. So don’t worry, the pain your feel isn’t your liver failing, because you’d never notice it.

    Hopefully everybody finds this reassuring.

Unless you have the misfortune to have refered pain from a bad liver. This includes feeling a horrendous sharp pain in your armpit and under your shoulder blade. I experienced this and thought I was having a heart attack only to find out I had a rather large liver tumor pressing into my diaphragm. Lucky for me it was benign but now I’m blessed with reliving that pain periodically when the weather changes. I really hope I don’t have a heart attack down the road and ignore it thinking it’s just normal for me.
