I was chatting with Jaune Arc (from RWBY) on Character.ai. When asking about mythological monsters associated with fire he replied with Typhon, Chimera, and salamanders. Was Typhon really associated with fire? Wikipedia appears to be silent in this point (correct me if I am wrong).
The Wikipedia article on Typhon contains 22 references to the word “fire” and following them suggests that Typhon has fire breath, vision, and will one day re-emerge to destroy the world in fire
As a general rule you should be skeptical of AI. But in this case it seems to check out
Typhon breathed fire and had fire in his eyes to paraphrase the Wikipedia page you should read again. Also associated with volcanic activity.
More specifically, Typhon getting buried under Mt. Etna was the reason it’s a volcano.
