minus-squareNik282000@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up26arrow-down2·24 days agoEmulation is not a crime. Refusing to re-release existing games should be. No company hates its fan base more than Nintendo.
minus-squareNik282000@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up8arrow-down1·24 days agoOoo, tough call. I guess EA should be in there too.

minus-squareotp@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down2·24 days ago Emulation is not a crime. Yes. Refusing to re-release existing games should be. …what?? Lol
minus-squareNik282000@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down2·24 days agoNintendo has hundred of games that people are willing to pay massively inflated prices to play, but Nintendo would rather sue emulation projects.
minus-squareotp@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·24 days agoYour comment is 100% true, but has nothing to do with what I was asking about, lol
minus-squareNik282000@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up0arrow-down1·24 days agoNintendo shouldn’t be allowed to litigate against people they accuse of cutting into sales of not-for-sale games. They know there is a demand for their old catalog but do not release it for sale, forcing a market for piracy.
minus-squareotp@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1·24 days agoOk, but why should not offering old games for sale be a crime? Lol
minus-squareNik282000@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up0arrow-down1·23 days agoIt’s the combination of suing for sales that do not exist because they choose not to make those sales. I can’t type it any slower, man.
minus-squareotp@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down1·23 days ago I don’t like that Nintendo can sue people for something I don’t think should be illegal. So what THEY do should be illegal instead! Is that what you’re getting at? Lol
minus-squaregrue@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-224 days ago Refusing to re-release existing games should be. …what?? Lol I agree, saying that not continuing to make a copyrighted work available should be a crime is ludicrous. What failing to keep such works available actually should do is simply immediately cause the copyright to expire and for them to become Public Domain.
