Today we'd like to talk about what you can expect for the story being told in 1.0!⬇ Links and Info ⬇ Website + FAQ ‣ https://satisfactorygame.com NEW Communi...
They give you sort of an intro after clarifying that they changed the main story. So everything you knew up to now no longer applies and even some background characters will not be in 1.0.
So I’d say it’s actually good to watch. Or you take my info and be surprised in 1.0 knowing your previous info is outdated. So don’t be dissapointed about that then.
Maybe don’t watch it if you want to be completely ignorant. It does give us a very brief synopsis of the story and includes a few brief easter eggs at the end which were also in the last video iirc.
I’ll give a summary of all non spoiler stuff in the video that I remember:
The entire story from ea is being retconned including: all characters apart from ada and the pioneer, the information we have been told about fiscit and why we are on the planet and other stuff as well
All ada lines are being redone
Mercer Spheres and Sommersloops are being given a purpose
And probably more that I have forgotten.
All the story stuff in the video is just world building and would probably be revealed to you in the first few minutes of gameplay, so I would watch the video anyway to get things that I forgot and to understand the basic story like why the pioneer is there and what fiscit’s apparent goals are.
It is my opinion that the videos released on Coffee Stain Studios’ youtube channel do not contain spoilers by definition. Those videos are their marketing material designed to be seen by people who have not purchased the game yet, so they don’t contain any information that they don’t want the player base to have yet. There are some glimpses of new content similar to the toilet flush video, and the very, very end of the video is…mysterious.
edit to add: this game made me unironically say the phrase “toilet flush video” and it’s very funny to me that they managed to engineer that.
Sure. I didn’t even click the video or view the thumbnail because I wasn’t sure if this was a 3rd party channel or the official one either, because I’m being careful about spoilers.
Just checked, the video above is indeed from Coffee Stain Studios’ channel, it’s presented by CSS community manager Snutt. The way I look at it, these videos are Coffee Stain’s official marketing materials, there’s nothing in those videos that they don’t want players of the game to see and hear before they play the game.
Now, my definition of “spoiler” is relatively narrow compared to some people. I saw a youtuber once who realized Subnautica was a survival game about ten minutes into playing it. I don’t know how you hear about, decide to play, purchase, download, install and run the game without learning at least that much about it.
If you have played the game in Early Access, you know or have assumed 95% of the content of this video.
Thanks! I’ve done Satisfactory runs in Update 5, 6, 7, and 8. I know that update 1.0 is coming from other Snutt-led videos which they had said would have some meaningful completion of the story and explain some of the items that are useless in Early Access, beyond that nothing specific about the plot I’ve heard.
I’m going to talk about the things in the above video, so don’t read beyond here if you don’t want to.
Early on in some fluff material on CSS’ website, they established a couple characters, Caterina Parks, Boss Babe CEO of Ficsit Inc, and her overworked assistant Steve. I think the in-game description for Caterium establishes it is named after Caterina. These two characters no longer exist in the story, it is unknown what effect this will have on caterium.
The only real plot point they’ve revealed is “Earth is in peril and us Pioneers are participating in Operation Save The Day.” Whatever they’re building out of the parts we send up the space elevator is supposed to save Earth. Whatever the nature of that peril, whatever the thing we build, remains to be seen.
I’d say it has one spoiler about the background of why you’re there in the first place, but nothing that wouldn’t be revealed in the first 60 seconds of the game from the sounds of it.
The spoilers are pretty light, if at all. If you want to go in completely ignorant, id say to just skip it. There also isn’t a ton of content there that you will miss if you do skip it.
Does this video have 1.0 spoilers? I’m trying to keep myself ignorant of them going in.

Okay! That the story will change drastically is big news enough to look forward to.
