It has to be a sand race because the Cybertruck gets completely disabled from moisture.

A cyber truck had a major malfunction and stopped working because it went into a car wash without being in “car wash” mode. The joke is that Cybertrucks cannot get wet.

And will get stained by tree sap. You should avoid the extreme use-case of parking near trees.

It’s also why I love the fact that it has a tent accessory, despite being a car that can’t handle being outside.

Because the stainless steel is not stainless and a protective coating is optional, not standard like… you know, on every other car.

Stainless steel that gets coated is no longer stainless steel. Stainless steel requires exposure to sufficient oxygen in order to maintain the protective oxide layer.

Except it doesn’t. It’s not the body panels that are rusting. It’s the airborne iron particles (mostly) from brake rotors that land on the stainless steel and react with it causing rust but it’s actually just surface contamination and cleans up rather easily. This is in no way issue exclusive to the Cybertruck. It just doesn’t react like that on a painted surface. Fallout remover is a commonly used product among car detailers.

It did not. The vehicle was in the owner’s garage. I believe it was water in the charging port that caused the front screen to freeze up. Everything else was working normally.

Hate is a toxic emotion. It poisons your own mind but leaves the target of it unaffected.

Also as I don’t believe in free will, hate is an uncompatible concept with my world view anyway. It assumes the person I’m directing my anger towards is personally responsible for who they are. In my view they could not be otherwise. I wouldn’t hate a bear for being violent so I also don’t hate Musk for being an asshole.

I bet Musk thought he was a genius that could revolutionize trucks, just like Apple revolutionized smartphones.
I admit I still think the model S was pretty cool originally, but now there are better offers IMO, BMW and Audi have some very nice upper middle class cars, that I doubt very much Tesla can match the quality of. If money is not a problem, I’d go with a Mercedes. For a cheaper practical everyday car, I’d go with VW or Hyundai.

But goddam I just tried my neighbors BMW I4- eDrive 40, that’s an amazing car with great range IMO. I’ve never been in a car that was that silent smooth and comfortable, and yet had stellar grip and handling. Even when you fired it up with everything it has, it was still quiet, you just felt the pressure of acceleration in the back. 😋

Similar to, but not quite the same as the kind of man-child that buys an F-150 on the off chance they need to haul a dresser once every 4 years. Seriously though, if each one of these buyers keeping US truck bloat in style bought a motorcycle instead to cement their self-worth, traffic would be eliminated in most US cities. That’s not possible due to many factors, I know, but it must be said motorcycles are just way cooler.

I do appreciate the fact that the Cybertruck was so clearly designed by someone who had no idea how to design a car, and that it’s Musk’s pet project. It really drives another nail in the coffin of the idea that he deserves all the credit for the work his companies do.

Then again, his most die-hard supporters draw no distinction between ownership and labor. They’re also somehow able to look at a Cybertruck and think “Wow!” rather than “Wow, is this some kind of a joke?”

To be fair to the Cybertruck, we’ve got no idea what models of truck these were, if the drivers were good at drag racing and driving on sand, or even how long the race was.

Honestly, the sentence just needs some punctuation and it’s fine.
