pretty much every app will start to use iOS 16 as the minimum OS capable of running it. it’s best if you upgrade now so you can run all of your apps and so you have more security

we’re talking about encryption here, not…that. please get your mind out of the gutter
i would try them if i cared. i don’t
it’s a very good tipping point dude. settings is so complicated to navigate and is very slow. not to mention control panel still has more features than settings
of course! i recommend downloading an older version of youtube by at least 2 builds (if the newest is 19.30, go for 19.28). i also recommend taking a while to go through all the settings. there are a ton of things you can tinker with to make youtube better

use uYouEnhanced (it’s iOS only and on github). gotta build it yourself with your own decrypted youtube IPA. haven’t seen an ad in years because of it. it also includes sponsorblock and free downloads
due to apple’s stupid side loading policies, you gotta sideload this through a service like AltStore or Sideloadly so you can actually launch the app. i personally recommend sideloadly because they allow 1 more app to be signed than altstore, and they let you enable file permissions for apps you download
oh my god. who’d wanna sign up for a service run by that dumbass lol
definitely. i know so many people from my school who’s iphone home screen is just… pages full of apps. we’re talking 40+ apps on average. they always say it’s weird how i use a website for almost everything, and then they complain about their storage space :/
i’m out of the loop. why does it say “retruth”? is there a new social media that i don’t know about?
try linux mint!
that’d be great but i’m pretty sure like 90% of chrome users don’t even know what an extension or even an adblocker is. they’ll just keep using chrome because that’s the browser everyone else uses unfortunately
probably not. i might just not plug it in and see how it goes. if it doesn’t work out, i guess i’ll have to DNS block its tracking from a openwrt pi
my parents and siblings enjoy the convenience of alexas and the fact that they can play music. i’ve tried suggesting an actual intercom system and they’re against it
that’s sounds great! thanks for telling me
thanks for the suggestion! as for nextDNS, i was already thinking of using this however you cannot change the DNS servers used on alexa devices. i was thinking of setting up openWRT on a pi and using that as a router specifically for our alexa devices with a nextDNS profile installed, but im not sure if alexa’s default to the router’s DNS or amazon’s. even if it does use the router’s DNS, does it backup to Google’s DNS (8.8.8.8) like Roku does?
buddy i would if i could. unfortunately they are forcing me to have it on at all times. which is why im asking for suggestions
sorry for asking a question about privacy in a privacy community. i can’t just not use it because my parents are forcing me to use it. if i was allowed to unplug it, i would.
fedora 38 KDE Plasma. still using it today
god i hate that i understand this PERFECTLY
