Y’all better calibrate your AI radars quick if this one is fooling you lol
I imagine a lot of people have jobs where it would be trivial to set something like this up on company resources under the radar and then lose access / get laid off without the company ever knowing it’s running
This doesn’t make much sense because different companies / services will have vastly different development costs associated with Linux compatibility and there wouldn’t be just one global threshold for profitability for everyone
Ya I wouldn’t apply to any role at this company if I saw that, that’s a major red flag that their VC money has either run out or is about to lol
Ya I’m surprised that people are advocating for Plex these days especially in a self hosting community, it’s overbloated and mostly exists to force their FAST service down your throat
Ya fuck star trek
Ya it’s a little concerning how quickly people shifted to posting low effort crap in bulk in order to simulate a bigger community

Ya Jerboa totally disintegrated for me over the past few days, the mobile site sucks too but I switched to wefwef and it basically takes the best parts from both but actually works lol
Basically the only times I’ve ever been banned from a sub is by asking “why is this comment pinned” lol
You would need a separate account to participate in instances your home instance isn’t federated with, ie anyone logged into lemmy.world would need a different account to use beehaw
She did know how to use the printer, she only bought the photos because she wanted you to buy candy from her
Spot on, if the lower volume of content on lemmy means I don’t have to see these kind of pointless interactions as much it will be worth it lol
You should post your Beau opinion on [email protected], I think since the movie sub is trying to keep its users on reddit it’s been slow to get movie discussion going here lol
Looks like the kbin crew has arrived here with their /m/s lol
Agreed I don’t think this will kill lemmy or even beehaw but it was definitely an avoidable speedbump
Ya I think a big part of the pushback is that I think a lot of people chose their “home” instance based on the guidance provided by the instance admins and then lost access to a lot of the network because of other decisions made by those same admins
Yes it seems like this move basically reverses all the progress that has been made this week, suddenly kicking everyone out of the most popular communities just as they were starting to participate is not going to go over well. Nobody is going to switch to lemmy if popular instances get overwhelmed so easily
That makes a lot of sense – when I’m buying something online I like the excitement of not knowing whether a product will cost 20 or 20,000 “dollars” based on how the scam market is doing that day lol
