Initially I read this to the “diarrhea” song.

I may have experienced this. A couple years ago I was getting over a cold. I blew my nose and instantly experienced severe vertigo. The room looked like it was spinning and it felt like I was on a boat in the middle of a rough storm. I nearly fell over. It took about 15 minutes for the sensation to fully expire.
Ah, I was thinking of canned mac n cheese which I tried once and the several times I tried different canned soups containing cheese. It didn’t taste like cheese and it wasn’t tolerable for me. That said I have enjoyed canned queso dip.
Canned anything with cheese tastes revolting from my experience.
Maybe. I’ve only known Snapchat used for sending pictures of one’s privates, which is quite direct now that I think about it.
I think it’s still used a lot for private messaging?
You’re not alone
Has XLOOKUP made its way into the non-subscription version? I’ve found it a lot easier and flexible to use than VLOOKUP.
Well, if Alexa did call the police and they showed up, there’s a chance the police might just shoot you instead of the burglar in your own home anyway.
Switch remaster has a motion controls option. I quite like it. Is that comparable to how it played on the Wii?
I use it on a Homepod Mini to toggle different lights and a fan. In my previous apartment I used it to control a window AC. Sometimes I tell it to pause my AppleTV if I can’t find the remote quick enough. I use it with FindMy when I lose my keys or bag or whatever else (I have a lot of AirTags). Other than controlling devices I mostly use it for weather reports and timers.
From my experience, touch typing and using all fingers (home row technique I think it’s called) is less common among boomers, especially men. Even in professional settings I’ve seen men peck at their keyboards with just their pointer fingers. The slowness of this technique might explain the use of abbreviations at the desktop?
fun fact: the length to width ratio of ISO 216, √2:1, is the same ratio as the tritone in an equal tempered 12-tone musical scale. If you fold A4 paper in half, you get a piece of paper with the same length to width ratio as before; analogously, if you invert a tritone, you get another tritone.
My partner has been using a Samsung Fold for two years, the one that folds open into a small tablet. It looked nice at first but it hasn’t held up well. There’s this film on the screen that you’re not supposed to remove and it’s deteriorating fast. There are these little patches on the screen that look sort of like bubbles. Plus even from the start you could see the crease in the middle of the screen.
My mom was permabanned from Facebook in 2020 for constantly posting anti-vax nonsense so she just went to places like Gab and Parlor. 😑
Also, macOS has some built in PDF editing tools in Preview. You can add text, signatures, draw lines and shapes, highlight, add notes, and split or combine PDFs.
On Mac and iPad it’s option-shift-hyphen.
Also there’s the en-dash (option-hypen on Mac/iPad), which is slightly shorter: –
The en-dash is meant for ranges of numbers, e.g., 1990–2023, although some use it like an em-dash.
What about three, four, or more independent clauses? Is that allowed?
Apple Podcasts app on any platform. If you subscribe to like more than few dozen podcasts it runs at a snail’s pace even on the latest M1 and M2 devices from my experience. I turned off automatic downloads and it still ran slow. I don’t know why because a podcast app should be little different than an rss reader in theory, no?
Anyway I switched to Overcast last year and haven’t looked back.
I’m really annoyed how little consistency there is in sizing terminology. One brand’s ‘XL’ might be too tight for me while another brand’s ‘XL’ could fit me like a garbage bag. Makes shopping online a real hassle for me. I always have to check measurement tables and even then it still might not fit right.
I don’t understand why the inconsistency exists. If brands all agreed with each other on what exactly their sizing terms mean, wouldn’t that cut down on returns?
