If I clip all ten toe nails I would say I’ll be able to find 8-9 max! One or two always take off wherever with no chance to be recovered. So i could relate to the strip immediately.

Oh, where is that? As an inspiration in case I decide to emigrate one day. 😄

Maybe I phrased it in a confusing way. Coffee does not smell like dog poop to me. It’s just exactly as disgusting. Can’t really compare it to anything else but it’s a very intense smell that I just can’t stand. I noticed that microwaving chocolate milk can lead to a similar smell but by far not as bad as coffee.
It’s not roasted stuff in general that I despise and also not related to milk.
The smell of coffee. I don’t know what’s wrong with me (or alternatively the vast majority of people) but it smells as disgusting to me as a steaming pile of dog poop. I learned to ignore it to some extend but I still hate it in all its variations: The powder, freshly roasted beans, freshly brewed coffee, cold coffee, coffee breath, …
I also don’t get the hype around Paris. It’s not super ugly but also nothing special.
I don’t live too far from it, could easily go there for a week-end or even day trip. Still only been there twice and have no plans to go there again. In many spots it’s very crowded and dirty and the attractions aren’t better than in any other major city.
Depends on what the tariffs are about. If there’s a tariff on a specific category of finished consumer goods, an import of the materials/ parts in combination with a local assembly might indeed reduce or avoid the taxes you have to pay.
Not to forget these crazy machines that’ll give you free money if you smash in one of those weird plastic thingys from your purse. Absolutely bonkers!
I’m not really sure what use 4,000 liters of water would be when somebody is having a stroke.
They send a firetruck if someone is having a stroke? Isn’t there a dedicated ambulance for such cases? A ladder truck might make sense to get patients out of a big building but other than that that? Or do they have just one single vehicle that they use for all purposes?
I agree that the US have way too many way too big trucks but this…
Ambulances and firetrucks in Europe and Asia are smaller than most american pickup trucks.
… is just wrong. I live in Germany and even small villages with only volunteer firefighters have full blown trucks way above 10 tons.
Most fire departments have something like this:
MAN TGM 18.330 Tank with 4,000 litres of water 18 tons total weight
More specialized departments close to industrial facilities, airports can be also much bigger. This one is currently the biggest weighting 52 tons.
So your alternative would be that ambulances should no longer use cars? From my perspective all kind of emergency services such as fire department, law enforcement, ambulances should be the very last cars we get rid of as a society. They have to be fast and they need to transport a lot of stuff and people.
Should have made it more challenging
I wanted to use the heart-shaped walnut picture to cheer him up. Share some love when you nut your bros. <3
Ding ding ding - congratulations, you got it. :) You’re officially the winner #7b!
These nuts are indeed not really popular but I found them in a regular supermarket in Germany a couple of years ago. As someone mentioned they’re typically almost impossible to crack, so each nut already had a small canal sawed into the side and the box came with a metal lever that exactly fits into said canal. With that preparation it was quite easy to open them.
You can also buy them online prepared that way. E.g. here: https://mypilinut.com/de/products/noix-de-pili-en-coque-seau-xxl-2900g (I don’t know this shop, it was just the first result on Google, so no clue if it’s a fair price).
There you go - challenge #7b just for you:
Ding ding ding - we’ve got our winner for today. Thank you very much for participation. :)
Know nut November Day #7 - What nut is this?
If it’s published under GPL which I think is the case, everyone is free to use it commercially and sell it. If someone is willing to pay for it, is a different story. ;)
Back-up/failover instances for communities and users.
Every user and every admin of a community should be able to assign a failover instance in case the main instance goes down temporarily or permanently. All relevant data (posts, upvotes, settings, password hashes, mod log) would be permanently syched so you could just switch over in case of a downtime and most importantly, no content would be lost.
If you implement a feature to set the failover instance as your new main instance, that would also implicitly allow you to migrate users and communities elsewhere.
From my perspective you can’t bet both sides and still expect gains on average. Sure you can be lucky that the one bet wins more than the other loses but typically that doesn’t work if you bet on two opposite outcomes. There are no magical and safe ways to multiply money other than maybe being super rich and already too big to fail.
