Currently playing Armored Core 6 with a Steam Controller, and I love it. But… the right track pad leaves a lot to be desired.

The best aspect of the Steam Controller, without a doubt, is the modularity and shareability of it. The standard control scheme a game tries to assume, most of the time it stinks. But being able to browse through community-made control schemes and finding one that works for me is fantastic. The highest downloaded control scheme for AC6 got me 95% of the way there; I just had to change the bindings of the back pedals to suit me. Now it uses the track pad and the gyro in conjunction-- track pad for big sweeping movements and gyro for small adjustments-- and I love it.

  • I believe that Michael Collins was explicitly not mentioned because it was believed he was gonna make it back regardless. I’m not 100% certain, but I believe the speech was prepared for the (somewhat likely) scenario that Armstrong and Aldrin could not lift off from the surface of the moon due to failure or not enough fuel to meet up with Collins in the lunar orbiter to return to Earth.

  • Speech prepared if Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were stuck on the moon:

    IN EVENT OF MOON DISASTER:

Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.

These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice.

These two men are laying down their lives in mankind’s most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding.

They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a Mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown.

In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man.

In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

Others will follow, and surely find their way home. Man’s search will not be denied. But these men were the first, and they will remain the foremost in our hearts.

For every human being who looks up at the moon in the nights to come will know that there is some corner of another world that is forever mankind.

  • Well you know what you’ve gotta do now, OP. Fast forward these comics to align with the leap years so this doesn’t happen again. I mean, what are you gonna do next year? 1988 was a leap year, so what will you do on Feb. 28 2025?

You’ve gotta post 2 comics a day for the next year so that Feb. 28, 2025 aligns with Feb. 28, 1989. Then you’ll be good!

(I’m only kidding, of course. You do what works best for you.)
