“People are complicated.”

Very much agree with this sentiment. I feel, too often, this gets lost in discussions. People will do stuff we agree with, and then they’ll turn around and do something we disagree with. It’s fine to praise and simultaneously lambast 'em.

This was the first year I learned about is as well. Trying to explain it to family and others was a headache and a losing battle.

Yeah. It’s very fucked up, but legally (and only for schools) it has to be written like that.

Education in a Title 1 school. I’m contracted five days for eight hours, but I probably work more like ten hours with before school and after school activities and additional stipend duties I’ve taken on. You don’t get much in the way for downtime between meetings, grading, and planning.

Weekends are my time. Non-negotiable.
