Self awareness? They all go to a convention meeting, which usually is a place for people who share a common interest to talk and learn. And here everone is standing around but without the slightest indication that any kind of actual exchange/dialogue takes place. Which defies the idea of a convention, but they at least know they’re part of the problem.

Last year there were reports about contracts that scholarship students from China had to sign. It’s not too far a stretch that students reported the professor for fear of repercussions based on such contracts.

Concerning the karma farmers and other spam bots: A lot of active redditors who reported them as soon as they cropped up aren’t on the platform at the moment. And some people might make use of ‘the troubles’ to set up new bots or for promotion. The last I’ve seen of those (before blackout) were people gifting karma/coordinate upvotes via subs somehow affiliated with Temu (some newish cheap shopping platform).
I searched the title of the original on YouTube - there’s a documentary from Bayerischer Rundfunk with the same title (could be coincidence or the original)? At least it also starts with the Gethsemane Church. German only unfortunately.
