Russian trash propaganda. The government lost ground in Belgrade, so they rigged the municipal elections hard and are now asking for help from Putin after people went out to protest. I guess this article means they made a deal.

You have a very naive idea of software development.
Ok, I just revisited it after a few years, and it seems kinda decent now, altho it’s still pretty ugly. Back when I first tried it when it launched, it was as barebones as it could be. Adding new podcasts sucked, it had no trim silence option, no web app etc. Still tho, Pocket Casts is ahead of it even today.
So people are actually using Google Podcasts? It’s a pretty shit app for the use case.
Reminder that capitalism doesn’t mean free market.
This whole stunt reminds me of a certain former OpenAI board member…
Except that’s definitely not the case, since unlike crypto shit, the latest wave of AI tech is already useful and found lots of applications. It may never reach AGI level, but that doesn’t mean it’s not immensely useful.
For people like me, who don’t feel cashing out money for a font - Iosevka is a pretty decent opensource clone of PragmataPro. But the OG still looks better to me somehow.
IMO this was always a stupid practice and nothing of value was lost.
Not sure where you got the aliens conclusion.
I mean, almost complete disappearance of smaller phones is kinda puzzling? The difference in screen/battery size between a 6" and a 6.8" phone isn’t that big, yet one will fit pretty much any pocket, while the other one won’t. I still find it counterintuitive that most people would put that much priority on gaining screen real estate over mobility. Another interesting thing is that these smaller sized phones are still present in flagship releases, so they’re kind of a premium feature now.
People want big phones for some reason, so it’s unlikely it would break the market. Those who want what you described are (unfortunately) very few.
Imagine “Twitter stuff” being your breaking point after all the bad shit Musk did. These people are the real problem.
Is it TickTick-level good?
I’d leave Beehaw 🤓
It’s not nearly big enough to be its own thing, and since the “quality” of posters is no better than other instances at this point, there woild be no reason to stay. I would certainly miss the communities there tho.
Also, Tildes is not a very good site to look up to. Why would anyone want another admin power-tripping place online?
