When the blackouts started, I decided to leave reddit permanently for Lemmy, a decision that I don’t regret. I checked back in briefly today and it seems like reddit is currently tearing itself apart. There’s definitely a lot more people vocally disagreeing with the blackout now.
I had a very similar thought process when choosing my instance. lemmy.world seemed like it would be more open to new users than an instance named sh.itjust.works. Idk why that was my thought process but I’m here now
Unbelievable. Are they actively trying to get as many people as possible to leave their platform all together?
I think it’s because the server is being overloaded because my email is verified. I’ll wait until the server is upgraded to try again.
Like everyone else here, I’m a reddit refugee but I’m quite excited for this instance
I do see a lot of potential but there are some issues I’m facing. For some reason, I’m unable to login to lemmy.world from my phone. There’s not a whole lot of content but I’m expecting that to change. It’s very nice here, overall.
I have a similar thing but with celery. I cannot stand celery because to me it smells extremely bad. Like, the worst thing I have ever smelled or will smell bad. If there’s even a tiny bit of celery somewhere, I can smell it. I don’t even know how celery tasted because I can’t get it close enough to my mouth to try.
