Notesnook is not ready for self-hosting yet, but it’s up next on their roadmap. I’ve been trying it out in advance and it seems to work ok. The only issue I have with it is that it logs you out of the apps way too often.

Yes, and they constantly change how parts of the UI work, most often getting more in the way of efficient actual messaging… It’s really bad.

mxroute is also excellent. It’s rock solid and the support is top notch, should you ever need it.
How does it compare to 7-Zip?
The recently released Proton Pass is also open-source and audited, keeps all the entries (including metadata) encrypted, and has a nice UI on mobile.
