Back when I used mastodon there were community emojis that were the checkmark and you could put it in your name. It was made to make fun of Twitter. Maybe it’s the same here?
Ikr? It wasn’t a rule on /r/196 IIRC
Sounds interesting
Is it not open source? I can’t find the source code anywhere.
Completely based.
And same, just gotta be patient for the few bug fixes that are needed to make it all work smoother. I’ll even try to create the communities I’m missing from Reddit over here. Hopefully someone more competent than me will come along to mod.
Just create an account on an instamce that federates both lemmy.world and beehaw, like the one I’m currently on.
Enabling downvotes is specific to the instance’s own communities, no?
Yes. Not into the posts but if they’re not popular they just won’t get upvoted
There’s a bug on desktop where the post refreshes just as you’re commenting (I think!). And I’m guessing that’s the reason for random comments about other things on some posts.
As of now, I’m counting 3 critical Lemmy bugs. Hopefully they get fixed soon.
Exactly! You don’t need an account on the specific instance, it all federates! You can subscribe to communities on any instance that isn’t blocked :D
But that’ll just scare everyone away! :S
But that’s the UI I liked from old Reddit!
Now I’m browsing Lemmy before getting out of bed :(
D: why you go back when you have a non profit community running on free software?
I’m glad reddit is going down because finally FOSS can get the spotlight
How did you come to this conclusion from the meme?
Does it not literally imply the opposite? “Trans people have to do everything perfectly to get respected, while cis people can do anything and will never get misgendered.”
Why would a trans person want the above? What’s your thought process?
