if you dont make 10 requests per second and maybe even fetch the data from another instance like this https://iusearchlinux.fyi/c/[email protected] i dont think it matters too much on the bandwidth side. I dont really know about the other more technical sides :/
I suggest liftoff, here th# github link: https://github.com/liftoff-app/liftoff
Liftoff: https://github.com/liftoff-app/liftoff
Found by searching: “liftoff lemmy site:github”
what about 20 epeleptic asexuals?
yea, that was my guess with instances like beehaw defederating much. If i did not plan to move i would have informed myself to how to make an instance and only allowed accounts, no communities or posts.
if you dont like how the admins handle things make your own instance
then i comment!!!1!111!!!
yes but i tried to use more peasent words because i can
what an unpleasant human
that is a very good idea. i planned following the plan at the end of the month before i deleting my account so i can do as much damage as possible. but maybe not because i mostly want to inform people and get them here before i go…
Will edit my post
who is he? Is he a reddit person or something?
it is better to change the comments to nonsense than to delete it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/146lloj/protip_if_you_replace_the_content_of_your/
“: if you replace the content of your posts/comments with nonsense, you’ll make Reddit Inc. (including its CEO) lose money.”
"There’s a good chance that those API price changes were motivated by large businesses using Reddit to train their large language models (LLMs) with. Stuff like GPT-3, Google’s BERT, Facebook’s Galactica, stuff like this. In other words, your content will be used to train bots. (It is, already.)
Those models can be “poisoned” with random, machine generated nonsense. Poisoned data is worse than useless: it makes the model worse. So for each person replacing their Reddit content with nonsense, those businesses will be willing to pay Reddit Inc. less and less for API access."
"Here is a mini-tutorial on how to do this. It’s for desktop users but you’ll likely be able to do the same from a phone browser.
If you don’t like Zompist’s gen and/or Power Delete Suite, you can use any generator and/or Reddit mass edition tool of your choice."
and yes, i am somewhat still on reddit but i think i do more against them when my app does not work anymore (to spread lemmy or information) i will follow this process
i would join this kind of protest, main problem is that enough active people need to do this to make an effect and reach at least some people. If there are not enough participating than the comments can easily be skipped.
Next problem is the add on. I guess it is not compartible with phones, at least the apps, next thing that if it gets installed the user dont have to care anymore.
Likely a better approach is to make posts or directly comment in subreddits about similar or migrated communities here.
For me the key feature would be that reddit does not get my data. That is actually a very good use case
And i think the idea is creative and i feel bad for describing it as not that useful and but i may be wrong with my points.
Maybe there are other ways to use add ons like adding behind the “main text” some rows to advertise similar communities on other platforms. But that could be skipped too by people.
Please let me know when you have something i can participate and i will join when i am the next time online.
the stats may seem a bit confusing because it takes the entire month and not only today
https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/stats
i likely do that too but i will never install the official app so i only access it when i need informations about something like programming. So i going to treat it more like an extension of search engines
sounds good. i mean it is only 10 to 30 minutes no login and lemmy.world content but because of the decentralization content from other servers should still be viewable. To the reader: it would be nice it you pay money IF you can. Server bandwidth is a problem that can mostly be solved by throwing money at it
From what i know tesla was first really profitable from cars (not investors) in 2020 and elon gave himself a bonus with like 50x value from all the profits (my source is the youtuber thunderf00t).
And if i heard it correctly tesla cars are overpriced compared to the competitors and none is on place one when it comes to the stats.
But to simply buy a tesla is as easy as simply buying the most advertised bs like nestle products.
And to the spaceX thing: they get their money mostly from having launch platforms and overpricing it there, the malket there only could be dominated because of investor money. (no source)
The satelite internet drains more money (with US GOV tax funds, no source) than it generates value outside of specific use cases. (partially thunderf00t)
Another thing (i dont know if it is true) that tesla and spacex are doing better since elon is occupied with twitter
