FOSS doesn’t mean that you can’t be paid for it…
I really like it. But I also think that it’s not a great idea to use colors similar to Reddit, it’s best if Lemmy (or each instance) finds its original design for those
Most of the socials that exist on the fediverse are still in beta or even alpha, it seems quite a bit too much to ask for complete federation out of the box. Mastodon gained traction last year, just think of how Facebook or Instagram were in their last first years of development
The Fediverse needs improvements, of course. But it also needs time and resources, and only with patience and coordination (and interest and money) we will get to a perfect working point :)
What you want is sorting by new, in “subscribed” or even “all”
Rip I wish I saw this earlier
Yes it should, I don’t know if there’s a faster way though, sorry
There already is a question similar to this. You can find lots of ideas there :)
I’m not sure but is there a bug of buttons not showing under comments in the inbox? I can’t manage to open comments in their context
I’m not sure if there’s a better way but:
If you open browse.feddit.de you’ll see that it’s not difficult to find the biggest/most popular one
You’re welcome! :D
I like FediDB.org
It will just be shown if you’re on your profile page :) (i.e. where it is actually useful)
We can only see what you posted and commented. The saved button is going to be removed in the next update
There is no problem if there are more communities with the same topic. The ones wich are better moderated and actively updated will eventually gain in popularity and stand out
On Mastodon this kind of heads up are called #FediBlock and it’s useful to decide to block problematic instances together
Instances could maybe put up a Patreon with features such as voting to decide things related to the instance for example. There’s plenty of ways to make money without VC.
Another idea could be making a bot that only works for people who donated, I don’t know…
Maybe get funding from the European Commission or https://nlnet.nl/ or https://www.ngi.eu/ or something like that
