Thanks for being both informative and open about this issue. Hope it works out.
Edit: The first two versions of this post didn’t seem to send: spinning post button. Maybe it’s not fixed or it’s struggling?

I’m not really one who has the inclination to moderate, but I might consider setting up the Lemmy equivalent of r/the_wire if one doesn’t come up in the next few weeks.
Yeah, true. Fair point.
There are issues with both sides of the down button debate, but I’m more for it than against.
For a different take on the downvote button, yesterday I put a post up on a technical thread. I hadn’t really read properly what the discussion was about, so my post wasn’t really helpful even if well intentioned. I only noticed when I got a couple of downvotes. I looked again at my post, then at the OP, then realised my error. Eventually I deleted my post. So, in that instance, I found the downvote helpful to myself as well as for the rest of the thread: make sure I read the OP carefully. ;-)
Yeah, that’s what I visualise when I read the word lemmy.
Someone was wondering what to call users of Lemmy. Maybe motorheads?
So much stuff about so many topics in many different communities. Then it all went sour, and I’m now here.
Sort of comes out as a smudge in a dark square when it’s a favicon. Still, an improvement over the previous one.
If it makes you feel more confident, it’s created by the Lemmy developers.
Same here. Also can’t get New to stick.
There are plenty of other instances to join if you don’t like the .ml servers’ opinions. From what I can see, all tastes are catered for. Just find another server.
And, no, I’m not affiliated with the .ml instances nor am I a so-called Tankie.
Hopefully it’ll get fixed soon, otherwise at the rate that Lemmy is growing, we’ll soon be playing never ending catchup.
Your test was successful.
There is Jerboa for Lemmy if you want to use an app.
Getting a bit more used to it after some hours of use. Using the site is mostly self-explanatory, especially if you’re used to Reddit, Discord and Mastodon. Looks promising.
Yes, that’s sensible advice for impatient people like me. :-)
This happens to me when I’m using my browser (Firefox). Have to click the upvote a few times for it to persistently register.
Firefox.
I’ve been using it since the Phoenix days. I occasionally go to Vivaldi (which is currently my secondary browser), but currently I’m back with Firefox.
OK, I won’t.
All my cars, bar one, have been manual transmission, as is my current one. To be honest, as I’m lazy, I do prefer auto, but it’s easier to buy a car with manual transmission here in the UK, as you have more options.
