don’t let yourself get discouraged, math isn’t everything ^^
oh hey, I was there too! Worked at the save3rdpartyapps logo, was really nice seeing everyone collaborate but it got really stressful at points. People were greedy for canvas space. Was a bit disappointing that we could only do so much, the banner was really small after all. But at least the protest didn’t go unnoticed with the giant “FUCK SPEZ” across the whole canvas.
if you want to know the percentage of something (e.g.: 6% of 50) you can swap the numbers around: 6% of 50 = 50% of 6 = 3
that is because it’s simply a multiplication, 6% of 50 = 6/100 * 50 = 6 * 50/100 = 50% of 6
I know a fun fact:
You know how a packet of 8 bits is called a byte? A packet of 4 bits, which is half a byte, is called a nibble!
But what if I want a union struct to quickly interpret floats as ints and vice versa! I need my C hacks!
Maybe your answer was not needed here but it is a very important one nonetheless! Especially when people compare themselves to the internet!
the hecking pepper brush from GIMP at the end got me laughing!
you can edit your post and correct the link I believe. Great post btw!
According to wiktionary infant comes from the Latin word infans, meaning “unable to speak”. The term fans means “to speak”.
Not sure if your Fanta can speak though :P
shoutout to this 80s punk song asking the same question but with hugely different energy :P
could’ve expanded GNU some more! :P
What do you call a group of 8 Hobbits?
A Hobbyte!
old pun by now but I still love it :P
Different apps being able to communicate sounds similar to the fediverse! Would be nice if there was a common protocol/library every messenger would use and clients would only need to implement it.
I feel like javascript would actually do this :P
German here, I think the degree needed for getting a good job mostly depends on your study subject. One friend of mine studied chemistry at university and said that a PhD is required for a good job while another friend of mine studied computer science and got hired before even finishing his Bachelor’s degree. The company helped him in finishing his Bachelor’s degree while employing him.
I studied math and got a Master of science, currently doing my PhD while working as a research assistant. I hear most math students leave uni after getting their Bachelor’s, similar to computer science students. Though it still wasn’t easy to get a research job for me. I think even within a study subject it depends on your field of research whether getting a job is easy or not.
