I know nothing of India’s education system. Does this mean it’s in an optional class now or is this totally wrong?

With it compounding it’s more like you lose half in ~5.5 years or am I missing something?
Anyone happen to know if family by law counts? Or how people raised in another country are supposed to go about this? I was literally looking into this as well
