    Don’t you just love the boxes with the convenient rip-strip thing when the glue is practically always in the wrong spot, making it completely useless…

      This is thanks to cutting corners. A material scientist will come up with a genuinely perfect tear-open container, just to have marketing and budget teams purchase lower-quality materials that no longer perform the advertised way.

    also plastic bags ever since ultrasonic welding became more widespread. now the seam is as strong or stronger than the surrounding plastic so you can’t just pull the seam apart for a clean edge like you could with most heat-sealed edges

      Yeah I’ve honestly started just using my scalpels I have for 3d printing to open any of those plastic sealed containers. It’s getting out of hand.
