Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to shut down news network Al Jazeera following the passage Monday of a sweeping law allowing the government to ban foreign networks perceived as posing a threat to national security.

Al Jazeera Media Network, which has produced dogged, on the ground reporting of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, slammed the decision in a statement, vowing it would not stop the network from continuing its “bold and professional coverage.”

Blocking Al Jazeera “marks an alarming escalation, and Israeli efforts restrict the freedom of the press and further limit the access that citizens of the world have to the daily realities in Israel and Palestine,” Human Rights Watch’s Israel and Palestine Director Omar Shakir told CNN.

The White House also called reports of the move to shutter Al Jazeera “concerning.”

When most people considers them reputable the problem may be with you. Maybe you’re too biased to view Al Jazeera objectively?

Have you checked it? From the looks of it it gets a more “mixed” rating because Al Jazeera has a separate opinions category. Opinions articles are almost always subjective and more prone to bias so that shouldn’t come as a surprise. However when it comes to actual coverage of the Israel-Palestine conflict they seem to be pretty accurate. Netanyahu wouldn’t be trying to shut them down if they weren’t.

Lol, you actually believe Daily wire and Al Jazeera are on the same level of credibility?

                Daily wire

The Daily Wire presents news with a hyper-partisan conservative bias in reporting and wording. For example, headlines are usually sensational and utilize strong emotional language such as this: Democrats Boo God. Then They Quote The Bible To Attack Trump. Virtually every story favors the right and denigrates the left. However, the Daily Wire does not always report favorably on former President Trump and his policies.

                Al Jazeera

In review, Al Jazeera reports news with minimally loaded wording in their headlines and articles such as this: UN approves team to monitor ceasefire in Yemen’s port city, and Erdogan delays Syria operation, welcomes US troop withdrawal. Both of these articles are properly sourced from credible news agencies. When reporting USA news, there is minimal bias in reporting such as this: Pentagon chief Mattis quits, cites policy differences with Trump. In general, straight news reporting has a minimal bias; however, as a state-funded news agency, Al Jazeera is typically not critical of Qatar.

If anything that should actually make you question the methodology of their evaluation.

Right. So the site with “In general, straight news reporting has a minimal bias” is as biased as the site with “Virtually every story favors the right and denigrates the left”. If that makes sense to you then you do you. I’m going to go continue living in the land of the sane.

Yea you should watch that channel in Arabic. Then claim they are objective. Here’s some video explaining what they like to do frequently. Plus it’s a state owned news agency… Qatar state owned no less. “Reputable” is not the word.
