The Palestinian police general killed by Israeli forces on Monday morning was in charge of securing the entry of aid trucks into northern Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.

His efforts resulted in the safe entry of aid trucks for two nights in a row, following weeks of Israel targeting convoys and aid seekers.

Over two dozen aid trucks entered Gaza City over the weekend and reached isolated areas in the north for the first time in months.

The empty comment section saying ‘nothing to see here…’ on these posts is eerily poignant.

What do you want people to say? At a certain point you have to start protecting your own mental health. Subjecting yourself to this kind of news day in and day out, doesn’t do anybody any favors. We can yell all day long about it on the internet and it doesn’t do a load of jack to help the situation.

I’ve spent tens of thousands of words going into the lion’s den of particular pro-Israeli subs, both to challenge the veracity of my own position and try to inject some sense.

It’s tough when the other side has paid online trolls no different than the Russian IRA and nothing else to do. I’ve exhausted my time and sanity but am happy I contributed my drop in the ocean to the dissent that may have pushed the Biden Administration to call out Israel.

If it makes you feel better the misinformation and poor reporting is prevalent on both sides. I’ve been downvoted for asking for links, questioning accuracy of reporting and one sided story telling, citing legal arguments… even saying that they disagree with the red cross assessment of whats ok and not.

War crimes and crimes against humanity don’t care about fairness, or feelings, and don’t become ok just because you are losing or been attacked first.

I don’t ‘want’ anyone to say anything. But when the governments of most major countries aren’t saying anything about these atrocities that happen day in and day out, the phrase feels very poignant.
