I have a problem now that there are some active communities that I have no interest in seeing on my feed. And new ones keep popping up so I have to go in and block them individually. They all have similar keywords and it would be nice if we could block communities based on regexp or a keyword

Just curious: what feed are you using? Local or All? I use “Subscription” (I use the Italian UI so I’m not 100% sure about the English naming) and I just see the communities I subscribed to

    I second @[email protected] ’s comment.

Local and All will show communities that you have not chosen, as well as ones you have chosen.

Set your default view to Subscribed and then only the ones you have chosen will show.

I have subs+active as my default mostly, and “show read posts” unchecked. So my feed is pretty lively with stuff I want to see.

Yeah I’ve been asking for this feature too, imo it’s one of the necessary features for long term survival of Lemmy as a concept, users should not have to rely on instance admins to curate their experience in that way.
