After months of brainstorming and scheming, Meta is getting closer to releasing a Twitter clone to the world, according to a new report from The Verge. The company’s pitch is simple. Execs claim they will offer “a platform that is sanely run.”

You all may have already heard, but Meta is gearing up to release a Twitter clone (possibly called Threads). The weird part is that they intend to use ActivityPub.

What are your thoughts? And what are the odds that they get de-federated in most instances?

    Federation isn’t profitable, so I’d be really surprised if they do. However, they may be desperate enough that they want to federate with Mastadon. But I’d be real hesitant of trusting they would stay federated
