Pictured: the inability for one to discern a criticism of the current Chinese government rather than the inhabitants of a country who are also victims of the government
I mean as a german I would read “fuck germany” and if the context is international politics I’d assume they mean the government.
But from what I know it’s also true that both the US and China have some pretty strong propaganda going to make people think that criticism of their country = criticism of them personally, so specifying never hurts to avoid antagonizing people. Still doesn’t seem like something to instantly ban someone over, but context kind of matters, if it’s out of the blue needlessly inflammatory it’s kinda worse than say a top level comment on a post about china doing something bad.
Good point on the propaganda. I’m old enough to remember post 9-11… when people criticized the government response they were often told “love it or leave it”.
They aren’t allowed to read that anyway… So i don’t think they can think about it.
Besides that the few Chines people i know hate their government and live as refugees in Taiwan with Fuck China in their discord bio… (or Fuck/China as gender) so yeah… I doubt they will be sad about it.
They don’t have actual internet access… Grate firewall and stuff… And its written so they can’t hear it unless they use a screen reader lol.
Anyway, you are literally cherry picking right now. Most Chinese people wouldn’t give a single shit just like how most US citizens don’t give a single shit about people saying Fuck USA/Fuck America or Germany being called Naziland by literal politicians (Erdogan, Putin, Orban, Polands Piss party as a whole to name some…) most people have better things to do than to get upset by someone saying something like that on the internet…
You seem fairly upset yourself, certainly wrote a lot on this.
Edit: it seems the question “What do the Chinese think?” is not relevant to you - I don’t really care about your reasons to dismiss the question, but I do care that others know that is where you are coming from.
Most Americans give a large shit over people saying “fuck usa”. They care a lot. I remember it being national news during the Iraq war when Americans saw people in other countries burning the American flag. They could not believe it and found it an insult against them.

Exactly, when one says fuck china it means the government not the average person that lives in China and has nothing to do with politics.
doesn’t really sound that way tbh, it’d be shorter to say fuck CCP
Eh. It means the same for sane people.
It actually doesn’t. China is a very diverse and beautiful country. CCP is an ugly government.
I don’t think the same logic plays out when people yell “fuck america”, Americans absolutely take it to mean the people
Because they are idiots, most that say that also mean the politics. (or are idiots)
How do you think the Chinese people would perceive “fuck China” with no other qualifiers?

Same, here in Australia. Americans seem to be more upset over criticism of their country/government by outsiders than most of the world.
They aren’t allowed to read that anyway… So i don’t think they can think about it.

TIL the Chinese people never hear “fuck China” and are unable to think about it.
