Because I’m exceedingly strong willed when encountering illogical or otherwise short sighted points. But sometimes folks just show me a new perspective and I am compelled to agree. I know what you mean. When I know what I’m talking about, I am also strong willed. My primary issue is when people come at me with an attitude from the jump. If someone approaches me with normal conversational respect, even if they are a capitalist or something, I am happy to have a cordial chat; if it’s rude from the get go? I will tell them they deserve the death penalty.
Tech issues are a little easier, but those tend to be proffered by the most obnoxious morons who also need to be put in their place by their superiors. People who say stuff like “decimate means reduced by 10%” and pretend technical decisions are entirely objective.

I am completely open to new perspectives and have changed my position based on someone else’s opinions. that’s just how we learn and grow.
I will not change my opinion because someone said it’s dumb or personally attacks me. if anything, I’ll double down on that hill just to spite them.
People love to jump to personal attacks instead of actually explaining themselves
When people do that I often think I said something that hits home, but they don’t want to admit.
