How does it work? At Sailmates, our mission is to help people explore and adopt alternative mobile operating systems. For those who may not have the technical expertise to install (aka “flash”) a new OS themselves, we offer pre-installed phones with the operating system of your choice.
Since this isn’t a “click and buy” process, here’s how it goes:
Contact us by email: contact[at]sailmates.net Specify the OS you’d like to have installed or the need that you have and the country where you live (living outside the EU is not an issue).
Depends on where you bank and on what you mean by banking app. There are generally 2 parts to online banking: The banking client and the two factor authenticator app.
If your bank supports the FinTS standard (so mostly German banks), then you can use Saldo for the first part. The second part doesn’t work like that. You’ll have to use the official apps, that aren’t built for Linux. You might be able to run it in an Android container such as Waydroid or AlienDalvik, but that’s usually difficult to impossible to do. Maybe your bank still does 2fa via sms, then you’re good to go. You’re less secure but it works
Meh, I feared that. The most important reason why I’m still sticking with Android are the banking apps. As far as I know we’re not that advanced on the dual boot front either.

Banking apps target android, these are linux. If they’re PWAs, perhaps.
