Some pretty messed up stuff.

Not sure why the Youtube link is in German - the video is in English, and I don’t live in Germany.

That doom box they’re selling is fucking ridiculous, $666 for doom 1 and 2, some cards a Tamagotchi that runs doom, a cassette tape and a box that runs doom… Like $300 would be too much for that.

Personally, I think sellers can demand whatever they want for luxury goods. It’s on buyers to decide if it’s worth it or not.

It’s still annoying for me people like me, who can’t afford these though.

That would be the optimal case, however in reality, limited runs and other marketing tactics heavily manipulate people into buying overpriced stuff they don’t need. I think it’s unfair to put all the responsibility of deciding what acceptable prices are on the buyer, when companies spend billions in researching marketing tactics. That’s why there needs to be more guard rails coming from governments, so that consumers can’t be abused as much.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against their right to sell it, they’re being called out because people really shouldn’t buy it. It’s kind of a bad financial decision. If you still want to that’s your decision but people shouldn’t buy it without knowing they could get a better deal elsewhere. That’s why these things get called out for being too expensive, not because they aren’t or shouldn’t be allowed to, but because people deserve to know it’s a horrible deal.
