If the situation was justified, losing his job beats the alternative possibility. If it was not justified losing his job is going to be the least of his issues.
It’s not illegal for him to have a gun. It was his employer who had a rule against it. In Florida you can conceal carry with NO permit as long as you are legally allowed to own a firearm.
