Accidental discharge by a hungover secret servicemen is actually a reasonably plausible scenario from what I’ve read, and yes, you’re spot-on.

The current secret service also investigates financial crimes, which is politically unwise under an avowed financial crook president.

And what possible reason would the hungover Secret Service guy have to be pointing a gun at the motorcade in the first place? In case John Connolly or Jackie suddenly went berserk? That makes zero sense.

It’s a whole thing, I’m not going to outline the full background and theory here or I’d be late for tomorrow’s lunch. If you actually care about this subject you can find that for yourself.

What actually happened then matters to me now only if someone with that intel decides to use it for a specific political aim. That’s the conversation I was interested in having.

Yeah, this is the theory that I’ve held since seeing a documentary investigating the whole incident. And for the life of me I cannot recall the name.

I find it far easier to believe the CIA would scramble to cover up a colossal fuck-up over any shadowy conspiracy of assassination. Incompetence is more reliable than competence, in a way.

God, can you imagine killing JFK by accident and having to sit on that secret forever because the FBI doesn’t want to get a bad reputation?
