It’s a verb phrase that means “to become a statistic in the name of the glory of Islam.” Stop trying to romance it up into some epic struggle for human rights. Gaza doesn’t give Gaza human rights. These dead innocents are victims of generations of brainwashing and hopelessness. Despite that, 98% of the Gaza has managed to dodge all the famine campaigns and indiscriminate carpet bombing. I have hope that after Hamas is gone, enough Palestinians may embrace modern human rights like representative government and due process instead of just having an actually far right religious dictatorship and rule by assassination, instead of living in the eighth century but with drones and rocket launchers.
