    This is one of those things where the government should just loan the cost of the fee and have them pay it back in a given amount of time. Will they all pay it back? Probably not, but it’s the right thing to do to help strengthen the economy. It’s either that or they’re going to work under the table, with a much higher potential for abuse, with a pretty good excuse.

      Or not charge a fee, since the cost should be recouped in income taxes.

      All government fees for basic things like the ability to work, an ID, or a license to drive that apply to the general population are just taxes on poor people.

        By design (in a cruelty is the point kind of was), USCIS is by law funded entirely by fees paid for applications.

        This. Why the fuck is there a fee to begin with? These people are refugees, typically with very limited assets. It is utter idiocy, and worse it is intentional.
