Not really. A bear, who already is a predator, being hungry of feeling threatened by you, is more likely than some random ass man being a predator. And if both are definitely predators, the bear would still be more dangerous because it’s a freaking bear with absurd amounts of muscles, super sharp & long claws & teeth, and absolutely no understanding of human communication.

Tell me you’ve never been around bears without telling me you’ve never been around bears

Alright. Put your money where your mouth is. Give a rough estimate of the amount of men you interacted with personally in your life. Then take that number and start having one to one personal interactions with wild bears (no black bears, pandas, koalas, etc.), until you reach the same amount of interactions. Then we compare the good, the bad, the ugly.

If both are definitely predators, the average woman has less than 50% chance of fighting off the average man anyway, and if she fails the consequences can be worse than just being ripped apart and killed.

And if you disagree that there’s nothing worse than being ripped apart and killed, that’s personal opinion. Not fact.

Also bears are massively likely to just leave you the fuck alone. They don’t want to fight you if they can help it, and don’t actively hunt people. That’s the behaviour of a standard “predator” bear, women aren’t on the prey list. The standard “predator” man’s prey is exclusively women, and they don’t want to kill them, they want to play with them, make them suffer first

Well, if you prefer to die than to get tortured or whatever, then you might as well just smash your head in, in regards to this idiotic scenario. And no, if both are definitely predators, then the bear is definitely coming for you, just as the man is. You may be able to scare away some little black bears, but try that with a big brown bear, a grizzly or even a polar bear.

Also bears are massively likely to just leave you the fuck alone.

Men are more likely to just leave you the fuck alone. That’s the whole reason why this entire scenario is ridiculous and sexist.

Oh totally, but if both are predators, and the bear is already a predator. Then surely that makes the man more likely to attack?

The problem is that this argument isn’t about facts, it’s all about (valid) feelings.

If I agree that factually a bear is more likely to harm you in an encounter. Can you agree that enough men exhibit predatory behaviour towards women that it’s understandable for them to choose bear?

Sure, if you also agree that this type of divisive stuff is just driving already troubled people into the incel corner as well. I could tell you a lot of anecdotes about women and what they do, too. But imagine how I’d get labeled and shunned if I were to apply the behavior of those onto all women, based on their sex or gender. It’s hypocritical and overall just not helpful. Those type of “memes” are ultimately just going to be also responsible for those perceived feelings of a lack of safety around men, and men seeing women as toxic and hateful.

100% agree that the question’s framing is divisive and inflammatory. I also hate the “All Men” garbage, I find the phrase “Enough Men” to be a lot better for getting the point across.

A lot of discourse nowadays seems to ignore that men are people too, and that they have emotions, often emotions that society pressures them not to have. It’s got to be hard repeatedly being told you’re a monster just because of the way you’re born.

There’s this expectation that men should be capable of looking after themselves, but at the same time should just take abuse and deal with it “like a man”.

I think you should be able to criticise women’s behaviour, enough women are shitty in a uniquely woman way that it needs to be open to criticism. I see your point that you’re likely to get shunned or downvoted to oblivion though, assuming you’re not just straight up banned. It’s upsetting that the world is as messed up and awkward as it is

I’ll get downvoted by incels and femcels alike, because I refuse to take either one of their extremistic positions and views. Same happens when the topic is about political extremism and Tankies & Nazis suddenly unite in hating me for not joining one of their sides either. Honestly though, the downvotes and upvotes are all over the place in this thread and whoever posted the rage bait originally definitely succeeded in riling people up.

Same here mate. I wish we could actually have decent calm discussions about these things. The world would be a utopia overnight.

Thank you for the calm discussion, it’s been far more interesting than the other rage threads

Why would you think men are likely to leave women alone when they can’t even do it on a meme they don’t like?
