Imagine a scenario where a bunch of these are used as a server and to power cycle all of them need to turned off.
I mean he’s legally obligated to, not really a choice. He can say screw it, but then he opens himself up to legal troubles.
It typically happens during updates. People have reported their grub screwing up. If you’re able I would honestly suggest separate drives
Exactly, Twitter still has over 200 million DAU. Thread has about 30 million, Bluesky has less. Mastodon is worse.
Things like my city’s metro communication is still on Twitter. People aren’t going leave anytime soon.
Curious, why not Ubuntu? Doesn’t it have more support forums and generally more popular?
True, I’d rather support Firefox as a browser and an organisation. Edge for pages that work best with Chromium engine
Same here. Edge gets a lot of bad rep, but I still prefer that over Chrome or Brave (due to its affiliation with crypto)
I think that might help, asking for volunteers. Segregating them based on their abilities (LinkedIn profile for instance). There are a lot of people who have a couple of hours a week they can spend for such a cause. Please check with your colleagues and see if asking for volunteers is possible.
Donating money is also an option, but in this economy, it’s not sustainable to donate significant sums on a recurring basis for most.
Other than gamers, there’s a huge share of enterprise Windows users. And they’re not likely to shift OS, because of IT admin issues. Others in this thread have commented on how Apple is struggling to get devs to build native games compared to Windows.

Angry baguette noises…
But yeah most houses in France don’t have a bidet. They wipe
When talking about messaging apps, you’ve to use the one that’s easiest to use even for the most noob tech person.
Signal uses phone number, because that’s how people generally communicate. It’s easy to use, setup. No privacy nightmares compared to WhatsApp, or security nightmares compared to Telegram (where E2EE is not even on by default). It’s open source, regularly audited and can be used on any device (no more proprietary green bubble nonsense). There’s still a market for Threema and Matrix, etc. It just never will be mainstream.
Elementary OS is very similar to MacOS. Check it out
Anyone else feel two massive countries (Russia and China) are lurching from serious crisis to crisis (war, economic slowdown) and just feels like the “I’m in Danger” meme?
I’m liking it so far. But given this is a federated replacement of Reddit, how does replication of communities work? Cuz there are multiple Technology or World News communities in different instances. Which one do we follow?
Also trains don’t run at night currently in Europe. But France is looking to run trains at night too (mostly by private companies). More volume, lower per ticket price can be justified.
Luxury handbags that cost $60k. Not just a handbag, but to diversify your investment and launder money.
Canada is still well protected, unlike rest of Europe which has a land border with Russia. Post Ukraine, it’s the turn of ex Soviet states (i.e. Lithuania, etc) to start googling where to move?
