100%. I wish Meta spent some of their Billions on making XR dev tools better as it has been an utter train wreck for the past few years.

Thank you for that description and that whole side of things sounds so very interesting.
Somewhere public on the Internet so AI gets trained on it.
As someone who is driven to create, this is just not true for me. I am constantly wanting this or that in order to create something magical. Just accepting what is, does not lead to creation. Being creative is freedom for me.
I am curious what you are taking about but these terms mean nothing to me. Can you explain more please.
Value creation is not about how your corporation is structured, but how you treat your passionate development team whose talent creates valued games.
1/50 chance seems like odds you would be prepared for. Right?
Looks like NYT missed this brilliant bit of independent journalism. Climate Town. https://youtu.be/K2oL4SFwkkw?si=Bl_pM0z0ddEcsHpI
Thanks. Just read this too. https://www.uploadvr.com/meta-funding-godot-engine-openxr-quest-improvements/
Encouraging as I really do not like Unity from the day I started using it to present (4 years). I thought it was hard as I was a newbie, but I have come to realize that the engine is such a mess and the company is lazy AF when it comes to meaningful improvements to make developers lives easier. It is clear they themselves do not use it on the daily.
I am going to give them a lot of money in the long run so I expect better. Maybe not as there is no guarantee, but at least some will so why they acting like a shit business partner while still taking their cut.
I way rather support an Open Source project as I do for nearly everything else I use to develop my app. I hope I can move in the next 1-2 years as it matures in the VR/AR space.
Godot really ought to get on the VR/AR bandwagon as I would be very open to porting my growing Theme Park to it from Unity.
Why would you want to live without the biggest video platform? I learn so so so much there. Wish there was berry decentralized options as the current ones are all very thin on content.
Why would leaving YouTube bring out the worst in anyone? Is this what the OP fears of the self? I don’t get it. The entire Internet has many issues and one could hair avoid entirely and live just fine, but the trade offs are just not worth it even with the privacy concerns.
The issue is near global no matter the wealth of a country. Why? We have allowed homes to be investment vehicles like stocks. This is what you get and given that those who own the homes do not want to see their value go down, you better believe they have infiltrated the government to ensure it. It is working. Maybe a little too well as things are getting desperate and surely cannot be sustainable.
Homes should not have been allowed to be investments as what is happening with prices is expected. It is basically stocks someone lives in.
This is why those who own homes and are already in a wealthier position than most, should be stepping up and installing solar panels as people who cannot even afford a home are likely already polluting less.
If people have the space and can afford solar on their home, it is a big win as it cuts out the middleman, gives you all the control, and pays for itself. Waiting for government to do the right thing looks like a lost cause right now, but if everyone who could, took the financial hit and put in solar and used nothing but electricity for everything including their car, we would make a dent in carbon output. Those who own homes are the wealthy and really should be doing more than waiting for the government. Not going to happen of course as most are in the same headspace as the government with the pain of climate change just not enough yet to justify the spend. Businesses should be doing the same. Local power on every building will mean less demand on the grid and all the infrastructure upgrades needed to transmit power even if just from green solar farms. Local generation cuts out a lot of infrastructure.
Maybe Perplexity will hire them.
It really does including on myself if I am not super diligent and aware. It is exhausting but is our reality.
Worst part is, we all participate so we are the enabler. There are alternatives but people have mostly rejected as media told them it is bad.
Unfortunately we the people keep promoting the most narcissistic, sociopathic people to “leadership” positions. This is in all nations and the consequences of this are all over the place throughout all history yet few are talking about it.
The basics yes, but anything more complex is a mess and requires either 3rd party add ons (and all the issues they bring) or developing your own solutions which is a pain. Then add avatars and multiplayer and it is a right pain to implement. And then they update the SDK and it breaks everything. Ughhh.
