    The above is a link to a post in the stardew valley subreddit, which was laudered as one of the most accepting and chill communities on Reddit

    The post was made before the great “fuck u/Spez” debacle, so before every decent individual left

    In it, I compare an anime version mod that changes a “MILF”'s portrait (their words, not mine)

    In it, I’m lambasted as being called a “pedo” and “liking 15yo girls”

    Yes, actual pedophilia is bad, but I’d argue people who witch hunt drawings, which aren’t hurting anybody, have way too much collateral like the above to even be considered a good thing to uphold. They ultimately achieve nothing other than patting themselves on the back for screeching at an innocent individual

    So yes, I understand why the people in the screenshot acted the way they did. Because this post is what happens when the numbers skew the other way

  • I see a lot of people saying that this is an accessibility thing, while also allowing you to not miss anything important

    But a well designed, uncluttered environment can do both of these things while giving you a more immersive experience

    But we can’t do that, because we’re in an endless chase to get the most realistic graphics, and how else are we going to show that off than overly detailing each pixel of stationary on a worker’s desk?

    I also see a lot of people saying “just don’t use the feature if you don’t like it”

    There’s a famous quote I like. “Given the opportunity, players will optimise the fun out of a game”. And you can bet your ass I do that. In any game with this “scan” feature, I’ll be tapping that like a relapsing porn addict, looking for any new quest npcs, missed collectables or just to see if I’m on the right path. I have a similar issue with minimaps, as they have a comparable effect on gameplay

    I’m currently writing a small literature review on tgf-b and SMAD signalling in cancer for uni rn

    And I’m really confused why this one paper’s talking about how miR-520h induces the tgf-b/smad7 pathway but also binds to and suppresses smad7

    Like why on earth is it activating the tgf-b/smad7 pathway, a pathway that stops stuff like the epithelial mesenchynal transition, if it’s just going to bind to smad7 anyway???

    Worst thing is, I can’t find any other papers on why this actually happens

    I swear I’m just dumb at times ;-;
