i was wondering , traditional distros when there are new tools , like pipewire , bootc (just examples, could be any) it already ship the system with these when you upgrade to newer versions

But with my understanding this is not true to nixos, because even if newer versions of nixos ships with newer tools, you would still have the old config, and then will not get, unless you manual add there, so you have to keep googling always for these new tools and not be able to “set and forget”.

Is that true ? is any alternative for this (maybe a merge with the config of the new nixos release) ?
