      The way it matters is many groups on the left are quick to hold each other to the absolute highest standard, which in general is great. That said, it often devolves into pointless auto cannibalism when the standards are unattainably gold plated.

      The right seemingly does not do this in ways that reduce power or end careers. That looks like cohesion from the outside.

      Again to be clear, generally it is important to call out issues and ensure high ethical standards. Sometimes it can turn into a witch-hunt.

      Edit it has been true over the past few years that the most fringe conservatives have been calling out “Rinos” for not being “real conservatives”, and that is worth mentioning as a way the right fights itself.
